BLONDIAU & PARTNERS IS A CREATIVE STUDIO FOUNDED BY SOPHIE DE PLECKER. SHE’S A CREATIVE DIRECTOR AND DESIGNER.
AS A LITTLE KID, HER GRANDFATHER, WHO OWNED A PRINTING HOUSE KNOWN AS BLONDIAU PRINT, GAVE HER A LOVE FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN, TYPOGRAPHY, AND BOOKS. LATER SHE CONTINUED HER PASSION FOR APPLIED ARTS BY STUDYING ARCHITECTURE AT SINT LUKAS KUNST HUMANIORA BRUSSELS, FOLLOWED BY A MASTER’S DEGREE IN GRAPHIC DESIGN & ADVERTISING AT SINT LUKAS HOGESCHOOL BRUSSELS (1996 - 2004).
SOPHIE’S PROFESSIONAL CAREER STARTED IN ADVERTISING IN 2004. SHE PERFECTED HER SKILLS FOR BRANDING AND UNDERSTOOD THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD STORYTELLING IN RENOWNED BELGIAN ADVERTISING AGENCIES LIKE DDB, DUVAL GUILLAUME NEW YORK, SAATCHI & SAATCHI, YOUNG & RUBICAM, PUBLICIS & AIR-PARTNER OF MCCANN. IN 2017, SHE EVOLVED FROM BEING A REWARDED ART DIRECTOR TO A CREATIVE DIRECTOR AT LEO BURNETT BRUSSELS, WHERE SHE MANAGED AND INSPIRED CREATIVE TEAMS TO WORK ON NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL BRANDS LIKE UNILEVER, FCA (FIAT, CHRYSLER, ALFA ROMEO, JEEP), CHAUDFONTAINE, JANSSEN PHARMACEUTICALS, HANDICAP INTERNATIONAL, THINK PINK & SAMUSOCIAL.
IN 2020, SOPHIE STARTED BLONDIAU & PARTNERS TO WORK IN HER WAY. STIMULATING CREATIVE THINKING WITHOUT BORDERS. FOUNDING A CREATIVE STUDIO THAT IS OPEN FOR ALL APPLIED ARTS IN SERVICE OF BRANDS AND PEOPLE. TODAY, BLONDIAU & PARTNERS IS ACTIVE IN BRANDING, PUBLISHING, AND DESIGN.
NEARLY ALL WORK UNDER BLONDIAU & BRANDING IS DONE IN COLLABORATION WITH JORIS LUYTEN, AN EXPERIENCED CONCEPT PROVIDER AND WINNER OF SEVERAL AWARDS IN ADVERTISING. HE AND SOPHIE HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN 16 YEARS. RECENTLY THEY WORKED ON PROJECTS FOR ALTAVIA ACT*, WHICH SPECIALISED IN RETAIL & PRODUCTION, WHERE THEY HAD THE CHANCE TO HELP START-UPS CREATE THEIR BRANDS LIKE DRINK IT FRESH AND CHIZOU.
BEGIN 2022, SOPHIE COMBINED HER LOVE FOR TYPOGRAPHY, LITERATURE, AND BOOKS BY LAUNCHING BLONDIAU & EDITION. ‘ÉDITIONS DU TOC' WILL PUBLISH THE FIRST FRENCH MINI-NOVEL WRITTEN BY NICOLAS LONGEVAL. IT WILL BE AVAILABLE BEGIN 2023.
2022 WILL END WITH HER LATEST CHALLENGE AND GIVE BIRTH TO A COLLECTION OF CERAMIC LAMPS UNDER THE LABEL BLONDIAU & DESIGN.
